I especially need a reminder to use equal parts rice and water in the rice cooker if I want the grains to be separate.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Here&#8217;s my fave easy rice and peas recipe:\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Equal parts (1.5 cups) rice and water.<br \/>\nOne can of brown gandules WITH the liquid,<br \/>\n<strong>1 tsp each:<\/strong><br \/>\nturmeric\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 onion powder \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 basil<br \/>\nsalt\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 garlic powder\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 vinegar<br \/>\noregano\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>1\/2 tsp<\/strong> each fresh ground black pepper and red pepper flakes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">At the end I stir in 1\/4 cup green olives and 2 tsp capers, and I add more vinegar and tabasco to my plate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I began this site so I could keep all my recipes easy to find.
