I like my curries extra brothy so I add at least a cup more broth or water and spices to the recipe below.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">LEMON GINGER FISH CURRIED SOUP<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ingredients<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">One chopped onion<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 chopped cloves of garlic<br \/>\n1\/2 half red pepper cut into strips<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 chopped thumb sized piece of fresh ginger<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">1\/2 tsp turmeric<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">1\/2 tsp paprika<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">1\/2 tsp cumin powder<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">1\/2 tsp coriander powder<br \/>\n1 tsp fresh ground black pepper<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 keffir lime leaves<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 tbsp coconut oil<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 tbsp fish sauce<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 tbsp palm sugar<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00bd tsp salt<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Mix these ingredients<\/span><\/strong> together into a paste and <strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">cook the paste<\/span><\/strong> for 5 minutes to blend the flavors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Here&#8217;s where you add the coconut milk.<\/span> <\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tradition calls for 2 cups coconut milk, which is delicious and also adds 800 calories and 36 grams of fat. <em>I&#8217;d personally opt for a 1\/2 cup coconut milk and 1.5 cups chicken broth<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Simmer 20 minutes to blend the flavors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Here&#8217;s where you add the fish.<\/span> <\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Cut 1-2 lbs firm white fish into 2 inch chunks and drop into the soup. They&#8217;ll be done in like 5-7 mins when they turn white.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Squeeze half a lemon<\/span><\/strong> into each individual bowl before adding soup.
